It is with great pleasure that the European Academy of Religion announces its sixth Annual Conference, which will take place at the University of St Andrews (Scotland, UK) June 19-23, 2023. The St Andrews Encyclopaedia of Theology within the University of St Andrews will be the organising institution, and the Encyclopedia is jointly hosting the conference with Australian Catholic University.
About the conference
The theme for this year’s gathering is Religion from the Inside, with keynote lectures planned by Prof. Jean-Luc Marion, Dr Avivah Gottlieb Zornberg, Prof. Diwakar Acharya, Dr John Makransky, and Prof. Lejla Demiri.
As in previous years, the conference programme will be composed of working sessions including: open panels; closed panels; book presentations (Author Meets Critique); and keynote lectures focusing on the overarching topic, Religion from the Inside.
Scholars, students, practitioners, and other interested parties are encouraged to participate in the conference by organizing and proposing panels.
The first conference event will take place on the evening of Monday, June 19. The last conference event is currently scheduled to take place on the afternoon of Friday, June 23.
The Call for Proposals opened on October 3, 2022.
Registration opens in early January 2023.
